New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries
Sparks will really fly around the New Moon solar eclipse in Aries on April 20th. Eclipses occur in pairs (or sometimes threes) and represent a threshold or a turning of a chapter, bringing major beginnings and endings. A solar eclipse can be thought of as an extra potent New Moon--signaling new cycles and renewal. This Aries lunation is truly fiery, and actually the second New Moon in this sign (the first was March 21st). This eclipse is occurring at the last or 29th degree in Aries, which is considered a critical degree. Meaning the beginnings that are taking place under right now are even more life-defining. The next eclipse is a Full Moon in Scorpio on May 5th. Both Aries and Scorpio are ruled by Mars, the god of war, and conflict that has been simmering could really boil during this time. On the positive, however, this is the perfect time to stand in your own power.
Mercury Retrograde in Taurus
One day after the eclipse, Mercury goes retrograde from April 21st to May 14th in the sign of Taurus. This particular retrograde will highlight changes we need to make regarding our sense of stability, especially relating to finances. Taurus represents what we value, so you may need to prioritize what you can and can’t do without, especially pertaining to the astrological house or area of your life that is ruled by this sign. There may be some unexpected expenses around this period as well.
